The following is a list of KATS policies and important points to remember about riding KATS. Please review. Thank you.
- All routes originate and transfer at the KATS Transit Center at 109 Clay Street in downtown Kingsport.
- You may get off the bus at any location by pulling the cord to alert the driver, please remain seated until bus comes to a complete stop.
- There is a two-bag limit per person on KATS buses. Please do not bring more than two (2) bags on the bus with you combine bags or please make other travel arrangements.
- KATS Bus Drivers try very hard to stay on schedule, so please get to your stop a few minutes early to make sure you don't miss the bus.
- Have correct fare, tickets, pass and / or photo ID ready as you board the bus.
- Please be seated as soon as possible after boarding the bus.
- Do not cross in front of the bus after existing the bus.
- Drivers cannot accept expired tickets or transfers as fares.
- Rember, service animals are welcome; however, no pets of any kind allowed.
- Check to be sure you are getting on the right bus before you board. Each bus shows its destination and route number above the front windshield.
- Do not use profane language or make excessive noise on the bus.
- Every KATS bus is wheelchair-accessible.
- No flammables of any kind.
- No shirts or no shoes equals no bus service.
- The use of alcohol or tobacco products or open food or beverage containers is not allowed on KATS vehicles at any time.
- Passengers will only be picked up at KATS designated stops.
- KATS patrons must provide the correct change to bus drivers to ride KATS vehicles. Bus Drivers cannot make change.
Please Note: Bus Drivers may refuse service to anyone not following the above policies or anyone whose behavior may be hazardous to safe travel. Remember, with your help we can meet your transportation needs and better serve you.
