KATS launches new bus route

 to the west side of Kingsport beginning Monday, April 2, 2012.

Route #6  Leaves Transit Office and goes to Food City downtown, then  navigates the Ridgefield traffic circle and continues along Netherland Inn Road toward Allandale Mansion.  The route turns onto University blvd and travels on Bellingham Drive and continues to Wal-Mart on W. Stone Drive. It is also provides a direct link to the Greenbelt.  Service operates Monday thru Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm.

• Downtown Food City
• Ridgefield Circle
• Netherland Inn
• Allandale Mansion
• Allandale Apartments
• Walmart

Bike Racks Are Here!

 KATS buses are now equipped with a bike rack on the front. Now passengers along the Routes can transport their bicycles for free. These new racks have a two bike capacity that is simple and user friendly. With the pull of a lever the rack lowers to allow passengers to insert their bikes and then place a bar over the front wheel to secure and that's it. Each rack has instruction printed on the actual bars that instructs passengers on property techniques for securing the bike. KATS is not responsible for damages incurred or caused by or to bicycles on KATS bicycle racks. Take advantage of these new features on buses that run near the greenbelt and enjoy your bicycling experience in Kingsport.
